On Sunday September 12, 2010, several branches of the Kent County District Library plan to reach out to the Spanish speaking community and acquaint it with the Kent County Library System. Last year, the community was invited to a Fiesta at Alpine Township Hall. This year, the library plans to set up at the Alpine Township Sports Complex at 1850 Alpine Church Road, from 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM. There will be no food this year but there is a concession stand at the complex. A Mariachi will be on hand for several hours, and several special characters will be on hand including Purdy the Clown, El Pollo Loco, and the library mascot, Katie the Elephant. There are several soccer games scheduled during the event, including some youth soccer games.
