Alpine Township Soccer and World Cup Mania

It wasn't World Cup competition at the Alpine Township Sports Complex but the quality of play was as good as it has ever been with players from around the globe participating in the Liga Gigante.  To get caught up in the World Cup fever, a good place to be was Perrin Brewing Co. on Comstock Park Drive.  There soccer fans could enjoy three World Cup games, including USA vs Portugal.  In addition to some excellent specialized brew, there were some great sandwiches, including a turkey burger loaded with goat cheese, guacamole, and fresh strawberries from our own Dunneback and Girls farm.

From a 0-1  deficit to a 2-1 lead only to end up with a 2-2 tie with seconds remaining as the USA played Portugal

Fun at the Alpine Township Library

There is always something fun going on at the Alpine Township Library.

Last week, kids of all ages learned how to create spa products such as foot scrub, bath salts, and body glitter.  Wednesday was a full house as about 100 participants learned all about bats and bat preservation projects.  Learn more about upcoming events at Alpine Township Branch, Kent District Library.
