Spooky sites in Westgate

Click the title bar to view a Fox TV video about haunted houses in the Westgate neighborhood.
COMSTOCK PARK - Comstock Park's Westgate community seems like a normal neighborhood, but in October things get really spooky. It's not a place you'll find your typical trick-or-treat stops. "Our lawn is the haunting of storybook hollow," explains Jennifer Dunahee. The theme, Storybook Hollow, is pretty frightful. You'll find a twisted version of 'Alice in Wonderland" and "Hansel and Gretel" where villains rise from the grave to haunt their fabled foes. Every corner is a scary detail made from scratch. "We start building in July. It takes us a week to set up. My husband builds the big stuff like the big gypsy wagon and the frames for the tombstones then I go in and decorate,"said Dunahee.
Something wicked this way comes......See the official website at http://hauntedwestgate.webs.com/

Last Fling until Spring

Westgate Park may be closed until next spring but it is a great place for a little tranquility this time of the year.
The Immigrant Soccer League ( Liga De Inmigrantes de Fusbal) finished their play at the Alpine Township Recreational Sports Complex by playing it's championship game and the presentation of trophies and awards. The championship game was tied 1-1 at the end of regulation and ended in a shoot out, won by team Inter De Leon, The team is made up with immigrants from El Salvador, Guatamala and Mexico.

The game saw lots of action but little scoring
Spectators had to dress warm as there was the threat of snow in the air,
