It was the day of the area wide men's parochial softball league's annual tournament. Teams were preparing to play when a huge thunderstorm interrupted the day's plans. Once that passed, it was "play ball" for the rest of the day. Besides softball, there was a picnic for the league, and of course, trophies for the winners. In the meantime, there were soccer games scheduled as well for both adults and youth. Parking for the day was at a premium, with some having to park their car along Alpine Church Road.
