Do all the good you can,
By all the means you can,
In all the ways you can,
In all the places you can,
At all the times you can,
To all the people you can,
As long as ever you can.
Those are the words of John Wesley as found on Building Campaign Literature distributed by Alpine Baptist Church late last fall as it was launching an expansion campaign. The positive response to that campaign was evidenced today as the entire congregation was on hand to witness the groundbreaking ceremony. Breaking from tradition, where it is usually the leadership that get's to put the first shovel in the ground, it were all the members of the congregation who brought a shovel and participated.
Alpine Baptist Church, located at 692 7 Mile Rd. NW, hopes to expand its ministry, and its facilities, and expansion will include recreational facilities for Awana and other programs. The church has been led by Pastor Doug Compton since 1992 and he is assisted by Youth Pastor Scott Florida since 1996. The church has an active outreach program in the community, and also offers a Hispanic ministry. Dedication ceremonies are expected to occur in February 2011.
