Summer Happenings at York Creek

While driving along Alpenhorn admiring the new sidewalks that have been installed between Lamoreaux Ave and York Creek Drive, more than a dozen children were playing in organized activities adjacent to the York Creek Office.  It is all part of an outreach program organized by Comstock Park Schools in conjunction with Wedgwood Christian Services, York Creek Apartments, Arbor Circle, Kent District Library,  Kent County Health Department, Kids Food Basket, American Cancer Society, and the YMCA.  There are daily programs for children as well as for teens, with staff and programming being provided by a different organization each weekday.  In addition to outdoor play, activities take place at two apartments donated to Comstock Park School, which coordinates the use of the apartments.  Today's programs were prsented by Wedgewood Christian Services and there were volunteers on hand from Comstock Park High School and from the Girl Scouts.
