Comstock Park Rotary Club Installs New President

The Comstock Park Rotary club installed a new president at their noon meeting today at the Swan Inn Restaurant.  Departing President Sharon Steffens swore in Dick Woodward to will serve the club from July 1, 2011 until June 30, 2012.  Sharon Steffens is part owner of Steffens Orchards, known mostly for its apple production but also for its cherry crops.  She is a former trustee, clerk and supervisor of Alpine Township.  Dick Woodward is the pastor of the Comstock Park Congregational Church.  The Comstock Park Rotary is well known for the many projects that they have been involved in bot locally and abroad.  They continue to make improvements to Grotto Park adjacent to the Michigan Veteran's facility, and have a  cleanup day scheduled on Saturday, July 16 from 8am until noon.  One of the larger projects completed in 1010-2011 was the installation of a public playground at York Creek Apartments (in conjunction with Kaboom and Amway).  The club also plans a membership drive in August.  To find out more about the Comstock Parl Rotary club, visit their website or call (616) 334-6687.
