The best place to watch the Hot Rod Magazine sponsored Power Tour as hot rods travelled from Muskegon to Detroit was right here on the lawn of the Alpine Township Offices. Several dozen die hard fans, many of them members of the Ridge Hot Rod Club parked their lawn chairs facing M-37 as many of the 3,500 vehicles passed by. A few tents kept spectators out of the rain. A number of antique cars were showboated on our parking lot, as if it was Tuesday evening at Fricano's Pizza or Friday evening at the Filling Station restaurant.
