Comstock Park Lions Raise Funds for Sight Seer Program

The Comstock Park Lions Club held a fund raiser yesterday to aid "Sight Seer', a Grand Rapids based non profit organization that offers a radio program created for people who are blind, visually impaired or physically unable to hold or read print material.  Thanks to their efforts, and some very generous local donors, the Club raised near $1,400.  The fund raiser was held at  bd's Mongolian Barbeque on 28th street.  Revenues came from a silent auction of products donated by generous local merchants, and from tickets sold in advance by club members.  There were several "celebrity grillers" on hand that helped prepare the food  for the "all you can eat" event.  The Comstock Park Lions Club chartered last year and is looking for new members.  Thet focus on programs for the blind as well as local community projects.

The grillers caught right on and found  new careers in the event the opportunity presents itself.
