Six members of the Alpine Township Board of Trustees met at Fun Time Track in Fremont last night in order to observe, listen and learn about the operation of a motor cross track. The board received a request for a text amendment that would allow outdoor motorcross/recreational vehicle tracks as a special land use in the C-2 Commercial Zoning District. The Township Planning Commission has held a public hearing on this request and has recommended denial.
The field trip meeting was posted in accordance with the Open Meeting Act, and a number of members of the public were also present. The Board of Trustees will have a second reading of this amendment at its Monday July 19th meeting, and is expected to take action at that time.
