Flashover Simulator Training

A hands on "Flashover Simulator" Training exercise was offered today through the Alpine Township Fire Department. Over 20 firefighters from a number of local municipalities were on hand to participate in the training. Flashover Training provides the opportunity to experienced firefighters to observe fire behavior and to recognize the signs of an impending "flashover." What’s more, participants got to safely experience the effects of flashover, while gaining first-hand experience with the proper use and value of personal safety equipment. All of this took place in a safe, controlled environment in a class presented by Inner Circle Fire Training, Inc. Trained Fire Control Officers were on the premise when the simulator was in use. The program was videotaped for distribution to fire departments nationwide. The event took place at the Sparta Airport.
