Trains, Mail Drops, Volunteerism and More

The Alpine Township Fire Department hosted a meeting of the Kent County Fire Chiefs Wednesday evening at Fire Station #3 at 610 Nine Mile Road.

The Alpine Township Library conducted a volunteer appreciation night for the many young people who helped make the library's Summer Reading Program a huge success this year.

A team from Siegfried Crandall PC, Certified Public Accountants & Advisors is conducting it's annual audit of the Alpine Township's financial statements this week. Community Relations Officer, Kent County Deputy Nate Ertle stopped by to introduce himself.

Alpine Township Planner Sue Thomas and Building Inspector Gary Campbell are showing off the two new mailboxes that are located in the center of the driveway to make it more convenient for residents to drop off their mail. The previous location of the mailbox had become awkward and inconvenient and had contibuted to a minor automobile collission as recently as last Friday. Alpine Township is grateful to the Comstock Park Postmaster for her assistance.
