Anyone for horseshoes?

What's the big attraction behind the Community Center on 7 Mile Road every Wednesday evening? It's Alpine Township's own Horseshoe League. Many of the members have been playing horseshoes at the facility for over 17 years. They used to belong to a softball league and used to play at the Alpine Township Sports Complex, but when the knees began to act up, and the Ben Gay quit working on the sore muscles, the shift went from softball to horseshoes.

A love for the game of horseshoes, and the need for camaraderie brings these friends together every Wednesday in the summer.

New Fire Vehicle on Display

Firechief Ron Christians is proudly showing off the Fire Department's, latest addition to its fleet, a fire rescue vehicle. The fire department saw an opportunity to puchase it at a very special price and the Township Board of Trustees agreed. The used vehicle has very few miles on it.
