Happy 96th Birthday, Martin Buth!

Special guest at Thursday's Comstock Park Rotary meeting was Martin Buth, a  former Kent County Commissioner and 24 year  Michigan Legislator who accomplished many good things during his tenure.   Martin is not only a past president, but is the only surviving charter member of the Comstock Park Club.  He addressed the membership and stated how he enjoyed visiting the club every year and credited the recent successes of the club on women presidents.  Martin was accompanied to the meeting by his long time friend Andy Dykema.

Rotary members joined in celebrating Martin's 96th birthday and instead of birthday cake, members were treated with a few homemade apple pies prepared (with fresh Alpine Township apples) by Sharon Steffens.

Also speaking to the club was Bob Homan, recently retired Plainfield Charter Township Manager who reminisced about his career in public service and encouraged young people to learn and  get involved in local government.
