Barbeque at Dwight Lydell Park

The Comstock Park Rotary held its first of three Summer Barbeque Dinners at Dwight Lydell Park Thursday.  This was the first time they added sausage to their menu, and  a limited amount of ribs to the dinner selection.  Previously they offered only their "world famous" chicken.  All three received rave reviews and ribs and sausage sold out quickly.  Funds raised will go towards the Rotary's Living Waters project in El Salvador.  A team of Rotarians from Cedar Springs, Comstock Park and Sparta are planning a trip to El Salvador in February with the intent to drill a well and make clean water available to the residents in a village near Acajutla, El Salvador.  Lack of clean water causes illness and death.  While part of the team will assist in the drilling of the well, most of the women on the team will participate in the training of good hygiene.  The Comstock Park Rotary is also involved in many local projects.

Membership in Rotary is open to anyone interested in Community Service.  The club meets on Thursdays at 12:10 PM at the Swan Inn Restaurant at Alpine Ave and 6 Mile NW. except for days with special events, such as the upcoming Barbeque days Thursday June 28 and Thursday August 23 2012.  For more information on membership please e-mail a.arends@alpinetwp.org or go to http://www.cprotary.com
