Kids in Need of their Father

Isidro Secundino is in need of a new kidney.  He is currently residing  in Chicago near a hospital that has agreed to perform the operation.  The problem is that he needs money to pay for the $70,000 of medication that is needed after the operation.  Isidro has no insurance to cover those costs.  His wife Maria and their six children live in Grand Rapids. Before having to stay home to take care of children, Maria worked in the apple orchards, including those directly across the sports complex in Alpine Township.  Supporters throughout Michigan have assisted in fund raising, including soccer leagues in Kalamazoo, Holland, and other neighboring communities.  About half the funds have been raised.  Today, Hispanic speaking soccer players and their families came together to help raise funds for the needed medication through a soccer tournament at the Alpine Township Sports Complex that lasted through the day. All proceeds from  registrations and donations will go into a fund set up at Chase Bank branches and known as the Isidro Secundino Support Trust  Donation Account. Assistance is also provided by and can be funneled through the Roosevelt Park Community Christian Reformed Church, where the family worships. Isidro's family needs him back so he can provide for them.
