Walkability Presentation - Learning Opportunity

Dan Burden

You are invited to a presentation/discussion on August 13th at 12:00 noon. Dan Burden, a national expert on active living, will use photographs of Alpine Township and other communities to discuss walking conditions, connectivity, access management issues, and design improvement recommendations. The presentation will focus on the vicinity of the Alpine Avenue and Lamoreaux Drive intersection.


Dan Burden is an internationally recognized authority on livable and sustainable communities and focuses on active transportation. Over the last 35 years, Dan has personally worked with 3,500 communities throughout the world to improve the built environment to become more livable and walkable. The visual presentation will include an evaluation of walking conditions, connectivity and access management in the vicinity of Alpine Avenue and Lamoreaux Drive. Photographs from Alpine Township and other communities will be used to discuss design improvement recommendations and may also include placemaking ideas.

The  presentation will be given at Art Van’s Furniture store at 4273 Alpine Avenue, Comstock Park, MI 49321. It will take place in the dining room area of the store, which is located towards the back and right from the entrance.
