The "Man in the Yellow Hat" Visits Alpine Township Library

The children who came to the Alpine Township Library for Story Time were surprised when the "man in the yellow hat" visited them as part of the 70th birthday party of Curious George.  Curious George was a character created by Margret and Hans Rye who fled Paris in 1940 and published seven Curious George books after that.  The "man in the yellow hat", who is never mentioned by name, rescued George (a monkey) and took him to Europe to live with him.

The books continue to be popular and are available at your local library.  Bringing the "man in the yellow hat"" to life at the library Tuesday morning was MLive News Reporter Jeff Cunningham, who read to the children and then took them for a monkey run through the Alpine Township Hall.
