Making Room to Build Disciples

"To glorify God and fulfill the Great Commission by developing devoted followers of Jesus Christ in a loving community"
Such reads the Mission Statement  of Alpine Baptist Church.  This Sunday the church dedicated it's new building addition at it's morning service led by Pastor Compton.  The theme of the service was "Making Room to Build Disciples".  Many church members were recognized for their contribution towards the completion of the expansion, which has been valued at a million and a half dollars with committed funds. Special recognition was also given to the architect Jeff Parker and the construction manager Matt Getchell with Wieland-Davco.  Bill Walters gave thanks for the stewardship, and Steve Cumins was recognized for his tireless efforts in leading volunteers.  Also participating in the service was Youth Pastor Scott Florida and Pastor Emeritus Cliff Owens who saw a vision of this expansion more than thirty years ago.
After the service, worshippers were treated to a tour of the new facility, watched a brief movie, and enjoyed refreshments.
After that event, most members and guests moved a mile up the street to Wahlfield Park where everyone enjoyed participating in the annual church picnic.
