Associates at the Alpine Avenue's Sam's Club celebrated the completion of the first major remodeling of the store since it first opened with a ribbon cutting ceremony this morning. The associates were joined by family members, local dignitaries and representatives from the Grand Rapids Chamber of Commerce for breakfast catered in by Cheshire Grill. Also present were members of the Grand Rapids YMCA, Kids Food Baskets and Gilda's Club. These three local organizations were selected to share $2,500 in grants from Sam's Club. Alpine Township Supervisor Alex Arends had the opportunity to say a few words and thanked Sam's Club, The Walton Foundation and Store Manager Jim Olson for their support of the local community and for working together in supporting other local community events.
