The Academy of Dance Arts, located at 684 6 Mile Rd. NW, Comstock Park, is now under new ownership and directorship. The business was recently purchased by Dawnell Dryan, dancer and instructor with the Grand Rapids Ballet. Dawnell states that she is pleased to be able to retain many of the original Academy of Dance Arts staff members.
The organization offers classes in ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, pointe, and hiphop dance. It will include classes for boys and body conditioning.
Dawnell is committed to providing a creative and educational environment that is age appropriate and family friendly. She offers fun classes for the dance enthusiast as well as competition teams for serious minded dancers.
Classes will start September 10 and registration information is available by calling (616) 785-0650 or e-mailing academyofdancearts684@gmail.com.
Open houses are scheduled for Thursday, August 16 and Wednesday, August 22 from 4:00 pm -8:00 pm. each day.
Demonstrations by the Academy of Dance Arts students and staff will be offered during the Comstock Park Community Celebration on Friday, August 17 at Mill Creek Middle School and the Comstock Park Library.
