Thanks to some unexpected moneys becoming available, Alpine Township and The Kent County Road Commission are able to partner up and resurface a section of Nine Mile Road between Old Alpine Ave and the rail road tracks. Work began yesterday and work is expected to be completed this week. Part of the project cost came from the Kent County Community Development Fund. There was a very short time frame to work with and the project received final approval only Monday. Because Alpine Township Fire Station #2 is located on that section of the street, the street will remain accessible in case of emergency.
