Family and friends were on hand Saturday to greet Fred Schweitzer on his 80th birthday, and his retirement from the Alpine Township Fire Department after sixty (60) years of service.
The public and friends will have the opportunity to say "Thank You" to Fred this coming Friday, August the 1st, (the date Fred officially chose to retire), at Fire Station #1 on the corner of Alpine Ave and Alpine Church Street. Please stop in between the hours of 10:30 a.m. and 1:00 a.m. for cake and refreshments and join us to thank Fred for the many years service to the Township and the community.
At the last Township Board Meeting, the Board of Directors officially proclaimed August 1, 2014 as Fred Schweitzer Day. The proclamation will be presented by members of the Township Board on Friday during the open house.
