What to do this week of the 4th of July - Cherry Picking

If you are looking for something untraditional for the family to do this week of the 4th of July can we suggest  taking the kids or companions and go cherry picking?  Unlike last year, there are plenty of cherries available but that may not last long.  Some local residents drive as far as Traverse City to get fresh sweet cherries* but there are a number of cherry growers in the immediate area, including at least three in Alpine Township that have available product.
